Works > Allegories of Entropy: Prints

Entropy was at the forefront of my thinking, upon creating these prints. In this piece, I offer the viewer a puzzle. I prohibit a rapid consumption, by refusing a straightforward aesthetic experience.

The grid is utilized to represent this painting’s historical origin: modernism. Upon this formal “armature,” a form, usually a decaying automobile, is sensitively painted, or drawn. This passage, appears to deteriorate and come apart.

Creation and decomposition cycle over and over inside of this symbolic representation of a world of entropy. All the while, printed rust spots appear to float over the surface, a nod to the feeling one gets while watching someone or something else decay,a kind of denial of our own decay.
